I've been using this movement to work up to a one arm pushup. You can do a Rocking Archer Pushup, and the eventually work up to a Rocking One arm Pushup on knees, then an Elevated Rocking Archer Pushup, then an Elevated Rocking One arm Pushup, and then a standard One arm Pushup. The good thing about this approach is you could in theory build up to a feet-close one arm pushup, which many consider the holy grail of pushups

Oooh, I think that would be the holy grail of push-ups. That’s legit

Tim, this is a great exercise. I will be doing this with my kids at school today. This morning, I put the mats out and we did rolling.

After 3 weeks I feel much better, now I'm doing push ups and the scapula feel more stabilized, the noice is very low, the pain low...now i feel my back more relaxed, I think that i was retracted the scapula too much and the muscle of high back was very presioned. When I do push ups now I think more and chest and the push movement and not in my back. Thanks original strenght! Sorry for my english.

What is the movement seen in the outro at 2:07 where Tim is moving the dumbbell in a circular motion?
@OriginalStrengthSystem8 жыл бұрын
I was drawing infinity symbols with the dumbbell. This is a fantastic movement!

Tim do you know anyone in the Uk that teaches your fabuolous system? I was a Personal Trainer and an ebdurance athelte then a year ago, I developed Brittle asthma, I've had to give up most of work, and stopped training in the gym. I believe this sytem could help, but can't find anyone who teaches it.

Hey Gail, We have a coach in Scotland. We are also hoping to actually be in the UK this summer teaching a Pressing RESET workshop. We don't have a firm date yet, but we are working on it. When it is set, we will put it on our website: OriginalStrength.net. Maybe you can be one of our coaches over there soon!

Hey Tim when you are bottom your scapula is on retract or protract...my scapula make some noise when I go bottom and next day before doing push ups I have shoulders and high back pain, mi scapula is going retract on push ups, that is a problem? Anyway great videos , we learn a lot of them, good job!
@OriginalStrengthSystem9 жыл бұрын
Darius andrei Don't move into pain, and / or dont do this movement if it causes you pain. Explore the range of motion you can have that doesn't cause the high back pain. I don't think it is a problem that your scapula retracts, BUT I also wouldn't worry if it is retracting or protracting. Explore the movement and let your body learn. Just don't move into or cause pain. I hope this helps.

I have an anterior pelvic tilt. What do I need to be aware of while doing these rocking movements?
@OriginalStrengthSystem9 жыл бұрын
+Michael Dooley Our only rule is do not move into pain. If you can, keep your head up and your chest up, so that your back remains "flat". Rock as far back as you can without allowing your back to round and again, don't move into pain.
