I'm 59. I tried every diet to lose 40 pounds. Nothing worked except carnivore. I needed something strict and simple so I didn't have to think about what I'm allowed to eat and how much. 5 months in I've lost 35 pound and feel great. Never going back.

You’ve tried every diet and nothing worked? Doubtful. Cutting out all processed foods and sticking to maintenance calories of a deficit would have also worked.

SAME! I totally get you! I even went through a doctor supervised program where my shin splints eventually turned into fractures because of excessive exercising and I NEVER lost weight. Could barely maintain. Doctor said it was because I was eating to FEW calories (under 800/day). Yet I was so fat and tired and miserable. Now I'm dropping weight without trying. It's glorious!

@@campersruincod6134 Dipwad!!! Come into the knowledge now available in the 21st century!!! Calories in/calories out has been proven FALSE!!! We now know that elevated glucose and elevated insulin levels prevents the body being able to be burn fat. That's a problem. ANY diet that encourages you to eat every 3-5 hours is also encouraging you to have elevated glucose and thus elevated insulin levels...which means your body can NOT burn fat. Which also means...there are MANY diets out there that are designed to PREVENT people from being able to burn their fat for fuel. That is a serious problem, because you are set up for failure from the start!!! HOW can you drop your glucose and insulin levels? Glad you asked. First, by reducing your carbohydrates, which are the main contributor to elevated glucose levels. Secondly, by eating less frequently...ie fasting. Thirdly...how can you TELL your body is burning its fat for fuel? By tracking your ketone levels. If you are off-putting ketones...either in your breath, blood, or urine...you know your body is using its fat for fuel. Science. Ain't it grand??? Now...back to the initial premise. Think back to any and every diet that came out in the 2nd half of the 20th century. Exactly HOW many promoted ANY of the things we now KNOW--scientifically--confirm we are doing things that measure whether we are capable of burning our body fat by checking glucose, insulin levels, promoting fasting (or conversely, shortening our eating windows), limiting carbohydrate consumption, or checking ketone levels? I can think of ONE, which was Atkins, and it caused all levels of havoc in the diet community at large...and yet--even though Dr Atkins didn't know the exact mechanics and was vilified far and wide for it! However...it worked so long as you followed the premise of keeping carbohydrates low...and checked for the presence of ketones. (There is one more...the hCG diet...but you can get the EXACT same results without the drastic calorie reduction by following Keto or Carnivore or something in-between.) Weight Watchers? Jenny Craig? Nope! None of the others did. Not one!!! Come over to the science side of the house!!!

I’m a minimalist and that’s how discovered carnivore. I was put on an incredibly complicated diet by a nutritionist and I looked at it as a minimalist and said how can I simplify this? Then I started googling if just eating meat was healthy. And tada!! Here I am. I tried everything, vegan, vegetarian, keto, clean eating, sad, everything. The food waste is now zero. Instead of throwing away vegetables that went bad overnight, I can eat meat and it not go bad.

Lillie, I’m new to this journey of Ketovore/Carnivore. After researching for a month thought it might help with some health issues. Although the health issues haven’t changed (yet). I’ve only been eating this way for 2 1/2 month. What I have discovered is an appreciation for the great taste, easy preparation, amazing food, and most importantly the 50+ years I’ve had such a very unhealthy addiction to always being consumed with counting calories, weighing myself and excessive exercise. ALL those are gone!! I eat until full, stay active, don’t weigh myself or care about calories. As a 67 year old this is so freeing and I feel the best I’ve ever felt!! So glad I stumbled on your channel. Enjoy your content and information and love how you just “put it out there.” Thank you!

Yes, yes, yes! The simplicity! I’ve been on a minimalism journey for a year or two, now...slowly de-junking my wardrobe, our home, etc. At the same time, my eating has grown more simple. I didn’t make the connection, though, until you pointed it out here. Shopping is a breeze, now. Cooking, which used to take so long, is quick and easy. Bonus-no more feeling bloated. Less really is more, as they say. A simpler life isn’t an empty one. It actually has more room for meaningful endeavors. Also, I love the attitude of not feeling required to follow something that seems restrictive. I don’t have any autoimmune issues, so the only thing I’m religious about is, well, my religion. (And neither carnivore, nor any other way of eating, is a religion, despite how some people act.) I eat mostly meat, but still enjoy avocado and occasional blueberries. I’m with you-eat what you enjoy and what makes you feel healthy and happy. Thanks, Lillie, for being a voice of positivity and reason.😊

I love the way you express your views and feelings in such a non-confrontational way. My family is always saying things like that viewer's comment and downplaying all the benefits I've had from Carnivore just because I am still having some health issues. (I have many Autoimmune issues that have developed over a long period of time, and I know they will take time to heal). It is so stressful to hear these comments from friends and family even if they are meant well (and some of them aren't). Very sensible. And I agree that it's much less hassle to just eat mainly meat based. I'm still feeling my way into this way of eating and figuring out what works best for me. I am mainly noticing that I'm happier and calmer. ❤

I guess I have the reverse story. Carnivore cured a lot of health issues for me, which is a great way to stay on track because I know how much I've gained and how much health I have to lose if I go off. The fun and easy are the bonus parts. Thanks for your great channel!
