I've been divorced almost 7 years, been single going on 5. My children's mom moved in her next husband the same day I moved out. She cheated on him before and after they got married with her current husband. The ulentire time she has brain washed my poor daughters against me, and relentlessly abuses the court system. My kids already don't talk to me anymore, and at this point I only communicate with her on a cordial level so she doesn't absolutely cook me. You are right about the hiatus. When you are in a no win situation where your presence means adding to the conflict and fueling their thoughts against you. Im currently working 2 jobs and trying to level my life up with them not in my life. It's empty, it hurts, but they need to eventually see that to make the hiatus make sense. She quit letting me get him on weekends over jealousy and her not having control of me. She is messing with my boys head bad, and it’s getting hard not to snap! But I’m gonna stay calm and put it in Gods hands. But he needs me, and always wanted to stay at my place longer than just the weekends. After over a decade of court , parental alienation, false accusations and continued attempted sabotage of tge relationship with one of my kids , I can tell you what those man's saying is 100. It's either back out or be completely ruined, step back when you have to and focus on yourself to be better for your kid , or stay in the trap . First of all, I am a woman who had 3 kids by 3 different men. But I in no way was toxic in those relationships - I was young making grown decisions dealing with immature young men. No matter how toxic they were, I still allowed my children’s father &/or their family spend “Valuable” time with them. Why? Because I was a product of this topic - my sister & I were kept from our father then abused by our stepdad. I am now a grandmother to a 3 year old little girl of whom her mother is keeping from my son (& entire family) because of bitterness for him. She has even sent him texts advising the baby has a new daddy now despite my son trying to do everything to appease her to see the baby. I feel your pain & others concerning the circumstances. Brother I definitely understand that i have to improve to be able to handle that situation at that time. Im doing exactly what you are saying as in starting my business & focusing on building myself. At the same time, i am showing the up most effort to be in my daughter life by jumping through these hurdles through the court. Me personally i never wanted the courts to ve involved but its gotten to that point and ive just sucked it up and started playing the game. Ive completed the parenting mediation class and now just filed a motion to reopen the case. Everyone situation is different when it comes to the meat and bones but in general, we are all trying to accomplish a SHOULD BE simple goal and that is to be in our kids lives.
