4:00:15 is this ai voice enhancer thingie, cuz it really doesn't sound like you
@TaranVHКүн бұрын
Yeah, it is. the mic was pointed too far away from me. There are many other spots where I tried the AI thing and didn't like it, but for this one, it did sound somewhat better than the raw audio :S Far better to just mic myself correctly, but perfect is the enemy of done, and I didn't want to re-film this part.

Eye dryness is the reason I don't try and get the surgery I have hyperopia and have had glasses since 3yo and I'm sick of it, but my eyesight is good enough that I can read without them, it's just not a good idea because I strain them 😅 Also, a friend of my parents got very sensitive to light and need sunglasses for even just a lamp in a room

I didn't know i needed a 4 hour video about video transitions. I seldom use any but here i watched the whole thing.

Go look up all the wipes in Star Wars. Its hilarious. My friends and I joke that its not truly Star Wars content if there are no screen wipes, and cheer any time we see one in a disney+ show

I hate that lens flair is a thing at all, and I especially hate it in video games. Its my biggest complaint with Halo Infinite, and why I dont watch much JJ Abrams content.

I used to be heaps active in the KZbin Poop community from 2015-2018, and from 2016 and onwards, there was an explosion of people using cracks of BCC, Sapphire, Red Giant Universe and HitFIlm plugins on Vegas Pro, with all their effects and plugins, including myself. So seeing some of these transitions and effects from some of those plugin packs was really nostalgic haha

I was starting to get worried that you weren't going to mention the Video Toaster! I'm glad you didn't let me down... But I did want to see the famous sheep wipe again.

Bro is comparing different dissolve transitions frame by frame, which I admire. This attention to details and perfectionnisme are the qualities of a real professional. Although most people won’t even notice, you set the bar really high in this industry.

I beleive people can notice bad transitions subconsciously, they will feel something is wrong even if they can't tell why

2:02 I was wondering why some of these look familiar: the Video Toaster. The Video Toaster rabbit hole is expensive. I think @cathoderaydude did a video on them.

1:39:00 You totally should have done that. I have a collection of links of YT videos that I currate for people who want to get into video stuff and it is way easier to link to lots of smaller videos than a long one. Also, it is so much better for discovery. People will search for transitions, you will have a bigger area of exposure. There is also a lower barrier of entry. People will watch 1-2 short videos and might go trough all of them, but seing a 4 hour video, not many will want to sit down and watch it through. So yes, please slice them up.

Taran have you looked at transitions/effects in davinci resolve? They seem so powerful and configurable (and reusable too). I feel like someone like you who likes to tinker (could just be me projecting), would dive in and forget themselves in there.

Somehow I went from a normal day to a splitting headache by the end of that lens flare section. It's amazing how effective just a few seconds of lens flares are at driving an ice pick into the brain!
