Dana, you are amazing! I just turned 60 years old, and for years I’ve wanted to build big beautiful muscles while losing the blubber. My husband is my biggest support and my coach who is in her 30’s. Is wonderful and keeps me on track. I’ve lost friendships due to my fitness goals. My close friend and I talk about it but we cannot discuss it in front of her husband because of his thoughts that women, especially our age of 60 shouldn’t lift. It’s crazy.. I do the InBody weigh in every two weeks, since June 6th when I recommitted to my goals, I have lost 6% bodyfat and have gained 7lb of muscle mass! I’m seeing changes in my physique, I have a long ways to go but it’s a wonderful journey. My 30 year old son is proud of me and encourages me to continue on. Love the 5 fitness tip! And I love your videos, you are truly an inspiration for the young in heart.

I started my fitness journey two years ago and my body, mind and outlook on life has changed completely, thank you for my personal trainer. The pointer five on this video made me cry because the people, family members, I thought would support me, where the ones to try to pull me down with name callings, accusations and blaming me for wasting money. It's shocking and disappointing! I went from 34% body fat to 17% and gain alot of muscle. Their negative comments made me stronger and taught me to stay focused on what matters to me and what makes me happy. My motto in my gym is: I am doing this for me... Thank you Dana!

how did you build your muscles? I'm struggling

tav kye I started off by working on my upper body 3x a week. Did a lot of pushups, assistant pull ups, triceps chest press and all that. Took me a couple of months, but I was really consistent with it. Takes awhile because I would have to warm up my upper body to activate my muscles before I could get a good pump going.

Honestly, you are my inspiration. One of my friends who is a body builder got me onto your videos and your youtube channel and I cannot get enough. He is fully supportive of me getting "big" while losing weight (he calls it getting thiccc). I joined a gym yesterday and I have an appointment with a personal trainer on monday to set out my fitness goals. I want to lose weight, gain muscle, and gain tone. I basically want to look like I'm about to compete, but I have no interest in competing, I just want that body. I have always wanted that body. I know I have a long road ahead of me, but I am (as of right now) fully committed. I hate the way I look in the mirror right now, I hate myself. (that got a little too real at the end there) ANYWAY, I just wanted to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

My husband and our adult children are mine and it makes me feel good knowing I have there love and support. As for every one else, I could give a shit! If they don't like it to damn bad. Great advice! Number 5 never ceases to amaze me. Here’s a suggestive gift in return for being a sincerely positive light that helps a lot of us on our fitness journeys (even a short vid that gets you to reset your head day to day and get after it helps). You two live in and around some the best fly fishing in the world ... if you haven’t already, give it a shot. I’ve been doing it for over 20 yrs and found that unplugging in crystal clear rivers and streams can do wonders for piece of mind. It’s part of my personal support system and a big part of the why I push to stay functional and fit.

Thanks for the good advise... the support system is so important. Here in asia, people still shun gals who want to build some muscles. My friends have been telling me I shouldn’t go so lean, build muscle etc.... it’s kinda demoralizing ... sometimes makes me hesitate like should I train harder or just maintain current shape... but end of day, I still wanna improve, I feel I can be even better than now.... for now, I get motivation only from the people in gym, those are the ones that encourage me, but I feel blessed because their encouragement does strengthen me, to be stronger both physically and mentally. And of course, watching your video also inspire me a lot :)

I love this video so much Dana! I have for years wanted to stronger, that was where my fitness goals began. Then I found out I had prediabetes. Its been years and years of trial and error and bad advice (including form doctors and dieticians) but I finally have my A1C back to normal (LCHF + IF + 5 workouts a week), and for the first time ever I'm seeing a little hint of muscle in my arms- I've always wanted to get a bit of that capped shoulder look and its just been tough going. I've had a lot of health problems and injuries mixed in. I hope someday you put out a for purchase workout system in the vein of a body beast or a p90x. My internet can be sketchy and I just enjoy them, its old school but I like the object too. Holding it in your hands feels like a commitment. I do all my working out at home and just cycle through various products like those. Body Beast is my favorite but they talk like women would never do the workout, haha

Thank you for the great video. I started the whole fitness journey 4 years ago. It helped me to get out of an abusive relationship and build up my confidence and life goals from a scratch. I feel so much better today and for a tiny person I am finally a little bit shredded and muscular (my friends would say I'm too critical about me again hahaha). But I still don't stick to a goal plan and your video reminded me of a book that inspired me those 4 years ago from a navy seal who uses the same SMART technique. Tracking progress is a little bit difficult because I always have to change locations because of my German police training and they closed all their academy gyms thanks to covid. But I'm still determined to reach my goals and your video was a good lecture about what's important. (And hell....I have to take meal prep serious!)
