Hi Jacob! It's ("Enigma" instagram account) Since you are so comprehensive and articulate in your descriptions of your observations dealing with schiz; would you be open to the idea of critiquing one of the simulators of schizophrenia videos as to whether they are accurate or realistic? I know experiences are different from person to person but I think your scientific observation of it would be interesting. I Think you're awesome. You have taught me (us) much in a very coherent and fascinating way. I wonder if you realize how much you have greatly contributed to the understanding of this illness to the masses. Thank you. till the next video. :) I'm thums up #9

iv got auditory hallucinations and have had from morning to night for the past 3 years and i dont find the simulators 100% correct. there is one that is almost accurate but it has background music "mystic" sound in it and that is not how i have i hear it like someone is standing outside my windows and speaking or as if it was my neighbor being loud. and they always speak one at a time, all females, like there is a conversation going on between them and that they are doing claims about me and what i do so sometimes i cant help it to answer back to them to correct them. like if i listening to music one voice can say "Joel he always listening to the same music" and then they add something negative and try to make it seem like i am bad for some reason.

maybe you should make a vid just listening to the voices and saying what they say. My voices were a guy and a girl, thick ghetto/black accent talking to eachother commenting on everything I'm doing, usually being kind of mean, but the bad part about it is they were always somewhere people could be like outside the window or in the next aisle over in a grocery store, around a corner ect. and if I went to look to see if there were people there they would stop or be somewhere else out of sight. They were always the same people so I learned to usually be able to tell if it was them or real people.

DirtyBird760 Gawd, that sounds so frigging annoying! I don’t (think I) have schizophrenia but lately the anti-anxiety meds I’ve been on seem to be causing... I don’t know what to call them - “head zaps”?? I’m hard of hearing and have constant tinnitus; the “head zaps” are like periodic super loud tinnitus blasts and I also feel super dizzy when they hit. Just my relatively little head zaps annoy the heck out of me. I don’t want to think of how annoying full-on VOICES would be, especially if they were saying mean things. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Bob Downs I bet you’re on cymbalta huh. Tell your doc and switch meds. Slowly.

Yea they’re always within reach, that’s just part of how the brain “legitimizes” them I guess, otherwise you’d be admitting they’re coming from nowhere and that’s not usually easy for people with delusions, maybe easier with hallucinations alone. My mom always thinks they’re somewhere in the house or right outside her window or in the backyard, or even under the patio umbrella, she also thinks they’re tiny people too sometimes.

Fiveoh Four Not on Cymbalta. Finally got to see my doc the other day about this. It’s from switching from Effexor to Amitriptyline. Went too slow getting up to my right dose on Amitriptyline and too quick coming down off Effexor. Corrected that starting yesterday and already feel better with fewer head zaps.

Some nights, when it's dark, I start freaking out for no reason. And the fear often triggers weird things to happen,like last time I felt something was standing beside my bed, a presence. Then I thought my cat was in the wardrobe as I heard something moving but i knew he was in a different room. Later on I heard whispers. Another night it was quiet, but I suddenly heard a yell! When the nights are like that, i usually can't sleep and stay in my room with the light on. It's terrifying to me.

Have you ever intentionally or accidentally recorded yourself when you have had any hallucinations and went back and reviewed it? I'm not eluding to wanting to see it because I expect that to be very personal. I just wondered if they were ever influenced by something you had recently read or viewed. I remember you spoke about being influenced by that movie. Thanks ☺️
@BobDowns

Cy B I thought of that too while watching his video. Already using video recording for this channel. Why not use it when things that may be hallucinations start happening? Then, at least, you could review the video later and see on the video whether “it” was really there. I wonder whether the hallucinations last long enough to grab the camera and point it at “it”. Hm.... This is definitely fascinating.

Bob Downs i think he stated a while back that when his hallucinations are happening he doesn’t think about recording or can’t even fathom pressing a button or think about it bc he’s in too deep. something along those lines. but honestly people, you’re asking for a lot. it’s personal and it’s his illness. and just because he’s on youtube, certain things should be out of question to even ask. i doubt you would ask one of your friends sufferings from it to record their episodes.

In my experience they (voices) can be influenced by recently viewed or read subject matter and people u recently have interacted with i.e. ppl from work. There is a deeper matrix to this as well and it can seem that your brain is tuning in to unusual frequencies for unexplained reasons.

Hello! Love your videos.. I'm learning a lot. My husband suffers from schizophrenia also and i was wondering (if you haven't done a video like this yet) if you could make a video with advice for significant others in dealing with an episode. He takes medicine and it helps but he never tells me when he runs out so if he has an episode I'm not sure if he's having one or he's just being difficult lol. I guess advice on how to deal with an episode and how to acknowledge someone is having one if they don't tell you. I'm sure it's different for everyone but it's like to know your opinion. Thanks! Oh by the way, his illness of all auditory voices... if that helps.

First of all, I would like to thank you so much for sharing your experience. I have always been fascinated by mental illness and how they affect people, or how these people think and see the world. You helped me so much to understand more about them, I'm even using this knowledge to help me when I write about the topic. Secondly, I would like to suggest a video showing your point of view of various subjects you feel comfortable talking, because I feel like you think different of others, and it would be very interesting. Thanks :) (and sorry for my bad english lol) (do a video outside too when you overcome the insecurity, I and many others would love)

You can make a vlog no.2 like what's going on in your life right now, future plans, how do you spend a typical day at home etc. Or you can make a video about your favourite films and films you wanna see. Or you can talk about how you get over a 'depressive episode' like how do you stay positive, what helps you in difficult times to move on.

Thing is it's one thing to hallucinate, another to start investing time and effort into them. Back in my late teens I read a number of books by the late Doris Stokes, who was a famous medium. In her early childhood she would see/hear all manner of things that petrified her. It was only through her guide that she learned how to be a gate keeper to them (keeping the negative out while welcoming the positive). Now we all have our own beliefs around this sort of thing, but in the case of a downward trend to our mental well-being it's imperative to have the foresight to notice when our mental well-being is taking a downward slide and to get it addressed as soon as... That may mean taking those thoughts/beliefs that we keep trapped within ourself to health professionals etc. What ever the process it's important to stop that train of thought and get a tight grip on our well-being and perhaps in time be our own gate keepers. If I am honest in the case of quiet voices if they are demonic, are they through being quiet enticing someone to steer and train their concentration to a state of mind where they manifest? In the case of making someone feel important are they seducing someone to engage in conversation and as trust is gained start manipulating. There does seem to be a pattern of outcomes to voice hearers and it tends to be one of torment...

These videos are very interesting to me, and I can relate with a lot of the symptoms! I don't think I have schizophrenia (though I do have very similar experiences on a regular basis), but I do have autism (which is mildly problematic in and of itself). My hallucinations are quite minor and the auditory usually only take the form of my mom or sister calling my name or the sound of foot steps outside my door. It's almost impossible to tell what's real and what's not. Like I said, I don't think I have schizophrenia, as they are usually very minor, but I just wanted to get this off my chest. This comment is quite ironic as I've just gotten home from my first appointment with a psychiatrist for my anxiety.

My name is Eric. Because I believe that you're not faking It I'm going to show you respect and be honest with you right from the get-go. I've been watching your video posts for a couple years now. I really haven't taken a heck of alot of benefit from them... other than I was needing to hear some people talk about mental illness and maybe give me some hope. Again I don't want to sound cruel but if anything sometimes I would see people that appeared to be in worse shape than myself and I would realize how lucky I was... and thank God for it (obviously not for other people being sicker than me, but for the fact that it could be alot worse or me) Sometimes that was enough to get me through the day. You stated on one of your videos that one of the last things in the world that you want is sympathy. Someone's pity, feeling sorry for me, that's nothing I'd want either. I very much respect that, but I did tell you I was going to be honest... I return to your channel and watch your videos mainly to see how you're doing. If that annoys you, forgive me... lol. I'm 52 In September of 2013 (I was 47) for the first time in my life I experienced an auditory hallucination. It was in the form of voices. I'm not going to give you my whole history with the shit... it's not all that important. The fact is I've been dealing with auditory verbal hallucinations everyday of my life since then. I want you to know who I am... That I'm not somebody just telling you something with no experience with AVH. I don't want to come across as being cold... When I hear you say that you have trouble determining what's real and what isn't when you're hearing voices.. Brother if you're alone in a room and you hear somebody talking to you it's not real. Unless you are talking with someone on your cell phone or chatting with someone on a computer or your cat learns to talk... I mean seriously. My life has been affected by this in a very negative way.. I'm very angry about it. To have a relatively normal/quiet mind for 47 years then have that taken away from you... for me it's been more than I can get past (in terms of daily anger). I have no underlying diagnosis of: schizophrenia, depression or bipolar disorder. I'm very grateful that within an hour of hearing voices for the first time I correctly recognized what the situation was. I was honest with myself and recognized that something snapped in my head. I thank God that I'm not one of these poor souls that when experiencing AVH believe they are hearing the voice of God, or or they're being pursued by the CIA and that the CIA is beaming live conversation into their mind by means of microphone and radio waves... or some other far out delusion. Let me close by saying that I wish you all the best. Always know that if you're alone in a room and hear someone talking to you... no matter how interesting the conversation might be for you, it is not based in reality, it's not real.

Could you do a video on your theory of everything? I would like to know your thoughts on how you believe the Universe (multiverse) came into existence. It's so fascinating to ponder that. I mean at some point in a fucking ridiculous unfathomable amount of ancient time, there was absolutely nothing and from nothingness an energy consciousness appeared that began creating. What created that energy consciousness if there was nothing before it? Then dimensions started being built and eventually creating our 3D reality. Then the first Universe popped into existence and eventually our Universe came into existence. It's a topic too few discuss but I would love to hear peoples theories. Great video by the way.

fear of wide open space = agoraphobia. it is more common than you would think esp. when accompanied with visual and auditory hallucinations. Demanding auditory female voices as hallucinations might stem from a repressed memory during preadolescent childhood; not always necessarily a mother figure. It may tie together with the agoraphobia. Have you considered psychoanalysis and regression? Most psychologists jump straight to drugs, but some of the early Freudian psychology practices are still the best (but they cost $) for identifying the roots of many types of delusions, if certain forms of medication, do not trigger secondary delusional states (that usually also sedate, and are "safer" on medical terms). When you're alone try responding, in case (in the rare theological phenomenon of foresight and/or divine communication) there is a higher power trying to get through to you. If those voices sound threatening and ask self affliction of you or cruel oppression of others, tone them out by listening to music or doing something constructive (like a hobby) to distract you from them. Many times, much of what they say will be forgotten but not all.

I used to (in my mind's eye) see my teeth bend and when it happened I could feel it. Not pleasent. That and a few other things as well around that time. The teeth one though, I can still barely feel it if I think about it, but not nearly to the point it was at a couple decades back. I just remember that the intensity of the thought and the reaction to the thought faded as time went on. I also at that time had a image of a stuffed doll, like raggedy anne doll, being mutiliated and looking into black beady eyes of the doll as it was happening. It was also not pleasent, and made me cry at least once.

I have a friend who has schizophrenia. She sees a polish music artist every day, and he talks to her constantly. She says they’re married. When I talk to her, I always play along when she start talking about him, but I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not. She thinks she’ll die soon and go to heaven with him (she’s 16). I try to tell her she won’t die, and that she should go and talk to her psychiatrists and get help. She doesn’t go to school because of depression and anxiety, and I worry about her a lot. How should I talk to her? I always feel like I’m doing the wrong thing. When I tell her something that she doesn’t believe, she tells me that [name redacted] tells her she can’t talk about it, and denies what I say. Thank you.

My delusion was that people talked like this and that I was missing out lol never happened again but I do hear clicks and meat being chopped which gave me paranoia super bad

Also, not to second guess your diagnoses, but hearing some of your descriptions as you go into delusions make me feel I’d be foolish not to ask if you’re familiar with Lewy-Body Dementia? It’s a Parkinsonian disease, one of the main differences between that and a classic Parkinsons diagnosis is that the delusions and such symptoms present before the movement disorder symptoms come along. Fleeting “shadows” in the peripheral vision is something extremely common too. I know this isn’t exclusive to just LBD but yea, anyway. My moms very old and sadly can’t differentiate between the two at all, like if you think it’s hard to tell the difference for you she can’t even acknowledge there is a difference usually. Anyhow. I think I emailed you or sent you a message on twitter or something she’s ago, but reply if you’d like to chat in some way at some time.

I'm not sure of what to ask you for in a video posting but I do have a question. I'm curious if you are able to have a stable job given the fact that you have auditory hallucinations. I'm currently unemployed and I got denied for SSI they stated that my condition is controllable by the medication I'm taking. I haven't reapplied I'm actually updating my resume and looking for jobs. My current living situation is in crisis and I have to get a job. I am scared as hell. The medication works but not good enough. I can always hear the voices. At times it's extremely quiet but not silent. I can always hear my name and 2 other phrases. Then there are times it's extremely loud and they are yelling at me. Constantly repeating the same thing extremely negative and abusive. They've never told me to harm anyone or myself until yesterday they told me to grab the gun from the closet and kill myself. I've been hearing voices for almost a year now. I am a mother to two teenage boys I have a husband who is having an affair and little family. I have absolutely no one to talk to except my psychiatrist and that's only once a month now every two months. At first I tried not taking any medication and it seemed like they were going to disappear but eventually I got on meds because my mom was getting angry at me all the time for talking to myself. I really do talk out loud to myself a lot and she could never tell. I only got on them because I didn't want her getting mad at me anymore. I don't get enough time with the Dr. I'm struggling and am tired of being by myself and feeling alone. I need a friend someone who is going through something similar to me so I can become more strong minded, feel less alone, and feel comforted knowing that I am not crazy that I am not the only person who is hearing voices. I hope you respond to my comment and answer my question. It would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time. If I have any ideas in the near future for a video I will leave another comment and let you know. Thank you so much. I hope all is well with you.

Last night woke up from a panic attack in my sleep and when I was about to try to go to sleep i hear a little girls voice it sounded like it was coming from upstairs and she kept saying”daddy?” Like she was looking for her dad but she said daddy over and over for like a minute straight and we have no children in the house. I wasn’t scared cause I knew it was just my head cause it was impossible. I get scared by the adult voices.

I’m not trying to judge you when I ask this, but do you think the reason or a least part of the reason you have trouble knowing if the voices are real or not is because part of you wants them to be real? And I can totally understand why you would, after all if a god or an alien is telling you they want to give you powers, it would be very cool if it was real. But you’ve also stated your an atheist and thus wouldn’t believe in a god...
@Fee.1
@Fee.1 7 жыл бұрын
Zorkmid123 nah mate, no offense but you’re way off, I know you mean well but you’re essentially suggesting if he just try harder he could better differentiate. If you simply read the definition of delusion you’ll see that’s not the case. I’m not saying there’s never times when he may want them to be real, but that’s because of what he’s hearing from them & has no bearing on the rest, otherwise when they’re telling him terrible things he could easily just decipher that they aren’t real and say hey nbd theyre not real, safe to say he doesn’t want them to be real when they’re tormenting him
@Zorkmid123
@Zorkmid123 7 жыл бұрын
Fiveoh Four Voices aren’t delusions, they’re hallucinations. And I’m not suggesting that he needs to try harder to differentiate. Since auditory hallucinations are usually disembodied (they sound like someone is in the same room but you don’t see anyone talking, you just hear them) you can tell that they are different from actual people standing next to you and talking to you. Also, in same cases you may want the voices to be real, if for example they’re telling you good things, like they’re going to give you powers. Voices aren’t always hostile.

I really want to know that, can you really handle with those voices? You said the voices telling you the harm yourself or the others. Have you ever harm yourself or someone else? I mean in a serious way like stabbing or (Idk what else you could do?) And when you listen to music, do they still trying to say something to you? And also for the other videos you can talk about songs that you listen to or you can try to speak foreign languages (I don't know if you have ever done one of these). Bye ~~

I'm here because I would like to learn more about the mind. It's very interesting to learn about the human condition. I think that the mind is like an antenna or a radio station. +IhaveSchizophernia Do you listen to music to try and Block out the hallucinating Voice's By chance ? I Have Mild AUTISM and I have "Hyperacusus" I can hear a Very Hi-pitched Ringing sound others Can't. It comes from Electronic devices, i.e. I hear it in both indoor and outdoor Lights, Tablets, Cell Phone's, Tv's, Lap Top /Computers, Dish washer's, Dryers refrigerators, Freezers, and clothes Dryers. Sometime's my hearing randomly Spikes and Everyday Noise i hear is Literally Ear Shattering Loud it's painful. I wear over the head. Headphone's called "Ear defender's" they help to block out the Overwhelmingly Loud noise that I hear. Thing's that can hurt my ears : like Daily Conversations, Kids playing or talking, Dogs Barking, ect, I also Listen to Music under my Ear Defenders to help ease my Severe Anxiety Thats caused by the sudden increase of my hearing. It can last for 15 minutes to an hour or more it comes and goes I Can't control how long it last for, sadly. I Never Leave home or go anywhere without my "Ear Defender headphones" or my "Music" they are my Life savers. Anyways I'm just wondering if Music might help you out with the Voices like at night.

Hi, this is James Park's ex writing from a different account. So you you say the voices are negative but you also had a great conversation with the alien voices. My voices started of as negative too, but after a few years they say nice things to me, and have identified themselves as aliens too, and not grey aliens lol. They tell me that they are healing my brain disease, that when they say negative things they are using an emotional response to heal. I have no idea how that works. My voices are mostly male too. Adonis says he has watched me since I was a child and healed me. Does your cat do weird things? Like look at things that aren't there? I have two cats that seem to play with imaginary friends, especially when I start hearing voices. I was born in Fairfax, next to DC. My mom had friends that worked for the government. They tell me that's how they came across me. Also they call their computer that they use to talk to us Isis, not the terrorist group. I know this sounds like a crappy sci fi but that is my delusion. I have had this for ten years, and only now have the voices told me they are really aliens. My mom is dying of her brain disease now so perfect timing.

A manager in the company I work for by the name of James Parks just died yesterday, he fell down the stairs at work and hit his head. It says you wrote that comment 8 months ago. It's currently August, the 8th month. Coincidence? Perhaps. However I can't recall once in my entire life that I've seen the name 'James Park's' anywhere on the internet before. Not that that necessarily rules coincidence out. Unless you are always thinking psychically (that may or may not be possible for the human mind to do) these things just pop out at you. I am left with speculation and a 'hmm that's interesting' and little else.

Imagine others existed that could see across time, thus see all, thus look at the present time from the outside and see into your mind, mess with your mind, insert sounds voices images, etc. With their minds having this feature of extending across time, their intellect would be absolutely massive. Man oh man they could mess with those tiny human minds, and do so to levels that those tiny human minds would never have thought of as possible even in their wildest dreams. The "others" could know of the full content of a movie and force a human victims thoughts to correlate with the contents of the movie, and do so to such a brilliant extent that the human victim would be 100% convinced that a character within the movie is speaking to them, conversing with them. The same could be applied to a human victim sitting in a restaurant, hearing people in the restaurant as they speak, and then be forced by the "others" to think thoughts that make it seem as though all of those people in the restaurant are reading your mind. All this due to forced correlation. The possibilities of what the"others" could do to victims, is endless.
