Running strengthens the heart muscle and the entire leg muscles, but without proper strength training, it may not be enough to avoid injury.
I present my set of three exercises, which I do twice a week for about 15-20 minutes. Their task is to strengthen my locomotor system, i.e.: ankle, calf, Achilles tendon and knee. Each of the presented exercises also brings different benefits. When done correctly and regularly, many common runner injuries should steer clear of you.
Injuries among amateur runners have different genesis. In my opinion, the key to staying healthy in this discipline is to maintain a proper body weight, increase cadence (improve running technique) and properly selected running shoes.
