The problem is that if you walk long distances daily such as I do, average 5 miles per day, I eat a potato for breakfast with salad and I burn it up. I am a Vegan also. My diet and weight loss and exercise brought my Lipid Panel down to normal. My A1C is also normal. I do an additional 1-1/2 hour of strength exercise daily also. If you turn your body into an energy clean burning machine, starchy foods like potatoes, rice, bread or pasta, isn’t harmful to your health. I eat the Dr. John McDougall’s “The Starch Solution”. I do eat a lot of vegetables, less fruits.

Thanks for yet another informative video. As a man of science myself I appreciate your references and explanations. One thing struck me a little odd though: Why is using honey as sweetener so much better than sugar ? Surely the same sweetener (glucose) is present in both ? Yes, with honey you get a lot of other nutrients at the same time but is not the sweetener really the same product ? I am mentioning this as I am a little fed up with many self-proclaimed nutritionists always using the “natural is healthy” argument even though there are lots of “natural” ingredients that are not healthy at all.

I have arthritis and crohns disease so I've been eating specifically for years, but you're right no processed stuff because inflammation levels skyrocket within a few hours of eating. Instead you gotta eat super clean. I usually just bake some chicken in the oven with a little salt and oregano and that doesn't bother me at all
@mediterraneandiet24836 ай бұрын
You should investigate how a carnivore diet would significantly help you reduce symptoms of those diseases.

The anti fat hysteria is just that - hysteria. Might interest you to know that health agencies are infested with radical environmentalists & vegetarians / vegans. No, seed oils aren't good for you. I'm confident fat via processed meats is bad, too. But the notion that a normal level fat cow produces bad meat is preposterous.

You are showing tomatoes in your "healthy choices" section. I have seen a lot of information indicating that tomatoes contribute to more problems with arthritis. There are other fruits & vegetables that are also a bad choice for arthritis sufferers. My concern is that you are an MD & if people follow your advice without doing further research they run the risk of having worse arthritis issues. Also it is important to address interactions between some RX's & certain fruits, i.e. ace inhibitors & grapefruit.

I like this guy. Thumbs up and a new subscriber :) Just the fact he says "if you eat this food regularly" impressed me. Its an accurate statement and doesn't condemn all those foods but simply points out that they should be a treat and not on the daily menu. I was told you can eat processed meat once a month as a treat and it wont harm you one bit. But eat in once or more a week and it will get you! I love fried white rice and found out that day old rice is healthier than freshly cooked so good news! lol I eat fried rice once every couple months with Chinese food. Again, its a treat not a part of my regular menu.

Yep. Both are sugars. The body can't differentiate accept one is broken down faster than the other. But both increase the Glycemic index. And the #1 cause of heart Disease is High Glycemic index, which also leads to diabetes and obesity.

Very well presented and informative video. However, to include dairy amongst the list of bad substances for arthritis is essential. The proteins in cows milk are designed in nature for calves, and their bones are different from ours. Over time diary consumption produces bones which are not the same as ours - this leads to abnormal bones.This is a very simplified account and there's already a lot of high science to support it - common sense meanwhile tells you you are not a cow, you are human, you needed human milk as a baby, but now you are grown up and you do not need cows or any other animals milk, as it is asking for trouble.

Thank you, Dr., I am keen to know about dietary elements. I don't like fried foods, pasta, pizza, or animal protein. I can't imagine how anyone can eat donuts or pasta. Just looking at them makes me feel ill. I don't eat processed foods, juices or sodas. I don't add sweeteners to anything. I have been reading labels on all food products since my late teens. I have low BP. I still have arthritis. I use avocado as my 'meat' staple with my daily salad to which I add additional micro greens and olive oil. I eat salmon 3 times a week. I drink approx. a gallon of water daily solo or with mint tea, to which I sometimes add organic honey. I am wondering about root veggies which I love, eggs and tomatoes?

Absolutely on the mark with processed foods and sugar. However I know of dozens of people who have put their arthritis into complete remission on a keto/carnivore diet consisting of red meat, including bacon and other processed meats. It does not seem to cause a problem unless you have your bacon with white bread, or your hot dog in a bun with fries (which is how 90 per cent of people consume their processed meats).
