I remember our boss passed out a blank form asking what "he" could do to make things better for us. @Narusasu986 ай бұрын

@theWebWizrd3 ай бұрын
Not that I agree with what your boss did, but those are also very counterproductive suggestions. Good bosses should want to find out what they can do to make things better for the employees, but they are looking for things that don't hurt the profitability of the company. Your pay, your hours and your vacations are typically integral to the business' profitability. Taking hours as an example, more productive suggestions are things like "Better communication and agency about decisions where my hours are changed, more predictability in what hours I have to work, being able to influence who I work with on my shift. As a result I suggest we make an online shedule where we have written who will work when for the next month, if hours could be changed we should have a meeting about it with everyone, and we should make a small form where we hand in who we want to work with." I think most people will find that if you actually provide some initiative and provide concrete productive suggestions instead of just using every opportunity to talk about less mutable things like wages and number of hours and vacation days you will actually get things done. Much more rarely will bosses fight against positive initiatives that do not cost the company much money (especially recurrent expenses). You were all just shooting yourself in the foot by not being cooperative in your example.

We will all be referred to by just numbers in the soul crushing future . Our governments will just see us as a burden and a way to get tax money for weapons of war and politicians will only see us only as a possible vote for them. Jails will become full and overcrowded as everything will be considered illegal and people will be apprehensive to even see a cop behind them when they are driving down road as thier rights are slowly eroded away. Life saving medical services will bankrupt anyone who doesn't have solid gold medical insurance and those that don't will risk death or disease since they can't afford to be hospitalized. Job sites will assign us number to keep records of us that we will clock in and out with and have badges we must carry displayed, All the while pensions will be phased out at job sites and the retirement age for retiring from work by governments will be raised to the point that it will be out reach for people and inflation will run rampant making everyone poorer while politicians live comfy lives living in rich mansions. I love how half the video is an ad, but I don't mind because it's as funny as the first part of the video!

The first time I quit my job I was smart about it. I waited to accumulate all my vacation days alloted for the year, cashed them in, and then during my vacations I emailed them my resignation letter. My two weeks notice was the time left in my vacations. By the time my vacations were over all I had to do was walk to the office once to return all the equipment and cardkeys, and then immediately walk right out. No retention offers, no guilt slinging, and SPECIALLY no more dealing with my own version of Garret, who thought his Sexual Harrasment jokes were funny, even though nobody else did. I just left, during my vacations I applied for a different company, got my interview during said vacation time, and did all the paperwork. Once I walked out, 2 days later I began working at my new job and it's been great. Been there 2 years already.

I love the added touch of having all the colors look washed out. Very corporate-office. Also I managed to snag a raise after 3 people quit at the hotel, and I told my boss that I was applying to another place that paid more. Next day he offered me more money, and I said, "But can you make this place suck less than the kite shop?"

I felt this 😂 Hey, here's a random thought: have you ever considered what it would be like if almost all information on the internet disappeared, and one of the only relics left to tell future generations of our time were Ryan George's first guy videos?

Now we need the prequel "first guy to ever get hired for a job"

i think making it a sequel where he gets hired at the new job he found would be funnier, cause it would be imply that no one got hired even though there's people with jobs

Thanks Ryan for giving us two videos over two different channels, which I'm sure was not super easy and a major inconvenience.

That "moving forward" was a nice touch. Never heard anyone say that outside of a business setting. (If it was unintentional, then this might actually be a reenactment...)

I just quit my job to go to a better one. My boss didn't quite have a reaction like this guy, but when she found out that I was going to get a pension at the new position, all her arguments melted.

Hey Ryan, first of all, a GREAT video as usual! I got a suggestion though - Can you also do a First Guy To vid about strikes and labor union? What with historic WGA victory a while ago, I think I would really appreciate if you do!
