Ooooooooo - I haven't done that in my yoga practice, but I know when I work with my chiropractor he would help release certain muscles (for instance - the psoas) and measure my arm length before and after and it is amazing how much length I gain!!!! Thanks for the inspiration!

Using a tongue scraper in the morning, I went further back than usual and triggered the gag reflex. I noticed afterwards an improvement in neck alignment and easier breathing through My nose for many hours. Is this Attributed to the Vagus Nerve?
@cjoyyoga9526
@cjoyyoga9526 Жыл бұрын
Great question that I do not know the answer to. I have heard of an Ayurvedic treatment where on an empty stomach you drink some water and stimulate the gag reflex to balance the energy at the throat chakra. Do not do this without a trained practitioner - however, it does make me wonder if there is some connection to the nerve plexus at the throat center that was stimulated for your benefit. If I find more in my research/studies - I'll respond again. Be well Friend!

Don't push back, push up and forward that's what lift the head, not pushing back
@cjoyyoga9526
@cjoyyoga9526 Жыл бұрын
I guess the first thing I would say is that no where in the video do I say "push". I rarely use that term as people get too aggressive. I say "move" the hyoid bone back and if you think of and gently move the hyoid bone back you will notice that your neck elongates which is ultimately what we are trying to do: allow the cervical bones to stack on top of each other while honoring the natural curve of that neck with as much space in between the vertebrae as possible. When I try to "push up and forward" as you suggest I feel my the natural curve being removed from my cervical spine and my spine does not care for that. Thank you for allowing me to expand on this very important Cue!

this is great, prior to sticking fingers in between the toes you can also press gently on the space in between toes (webbing). Press down and massage each area a little.

@@cjoyyoga9526 I had heart, sole of the foot is ur 2nd heart and it makes sense as all the nerves and meridians end there. Science has its own interpretation of 2nd heart; The body is engineered so that when you walk, the calf muscles (The soleus muscle ) pump venous blood back toward your heart. The veins in your calf act like a reservoir for blood your body does not need in circulation at any given time. So calf muscle is the actual second heart.

What if you can't gargle - only choke on the water?
@cjoyyoga9526
@cjoyyoga9526 Жыл бұрын
Definitely do NOT gargle if you just choke on the water. There are other ways to manually stimulate the Vagus Nerve such as: humming, singing, chanting, and massage your neck with your hands. Maybe try one or more of those techniques?!
