What right do they have to just flashbang us like that.

Lets be honest, you just saw a youtube video where in someone pinned down the dance move of Momo and you created a video just to stretched it out. I have seen that Video 🤣🤣🤣

As a recently made new mom of a little girl, this episode absolutely wrecked me. To so carefully show their relationship alongside the mothers struggles with no words was so well done. Always appreciate your analysis videos for taking time to admire the artists and the small details that are easily missed when watching.

This episode was outstanding. The tragedy felt like one of the Witcher tales. So outstanding it felt disconnected from this goofy series.

As someone who prefers the manga, I have to admit this might be one of that moments that the anime might have added more to the manga

I already knew that whatever had happened to AS was going to be tragic bc most yokai are created from horrible tragedy, but the second those sweeping angles showed up Ik something was coming; just not....THAT

Nothing has evoked Satoshi Kon’s spirit more than the flashback. Even the character designs feel like they move slightly towards his style.

I want to do artwork of both examples here. The hyper realistic and the highly expressionistic style. One is so beautiful and serene, the other is so vibrant and exciting. I love anime that do either of these things, they inspire me to want to keep practicing and keep learning. Plus they are just fun to watch. This show does both while also incorporating action, romance, the occult and it has flawed, interesting characters that you want to root for and watch grow. The story is wacky and yet still somehow takes itself seriously at the right times, it's overall a very interesting show.

If studios only put as much effort in the anime as in the openings, more anime would be a joy to watch. Sometimes it feels like the anime is an afterthought. Luckily Dandandan delievers in the anime, a real gem. It's jst as good as Mob Psycho 100.

BEST VIDEO TO DATE FOR THE BEST DANDA DAN EPISODE! (That I've watched so far. I've yet to see episode 8). Simply magnificent how you breakdown and analyze so many details I loved and caught so many gems I missed. All while giving just and rightful credit to each animator so I know exactly who to thank for this art. Thank you.

this is a minor detail but i LOVE that they drew the kid with baby fat on her body and face and the imperfect but confident movements only a young child could have. SO many anime often have children who dont act like, and more importantly dont LOOK like young children, so having her movement and face be so realistic really makes you believe "this child is REAL i could believe they were alive and happy and loved so much", and then the episode tears your heart out with it
@boohonkers8 сағат бұрын
Thank you for mentioning it! I literally gasped when i saw the child's design on the anime. My surprise may be just an overreaction, but given how many children are 'moe-ified' in anime these days, seeing a kid realistically designed like her is such a fresh breath of air

I love these breakdowns so much, I've watched a few of your videos by now and I'm always amazed at how deep you go into it. where do you get the information on which people did specific storyboards, frames, or scenes? I find it so cool and want to look more into who's animating my favorite shows (which heavenly delusion is one, and I definitely noticed the stylistic similarities that you mentioned but had no idea how to connect the two!)
@swampjawn2 сағат бұрын
So glad you enjoyed it! There are a few websites that list basic credits like storyboards and such, like AniDB and animenewsnetwork (with varying degrees of reliability). For the individual animation cuts, ultimately the information usually comes from either the studio's or the animators' twitter accounts, but people do a pretty good job of aggregating it on sakugabooru dot com!

Don't do ballet myself, but someone I watch explained that the type of ballet she's doing is free form. Ballet is based on precise movement and following the lead of the music or someone else, but on the roof, she's doing her ballet purely off of emotion, spinning and jumping wildly without much rhythm as a way of expression and release.
@dare2liv_nlove12 сағат бұрын
If _you_ are doing episodic breakdowns of Dandadan, then that is a primary reason for me to start watching it! I can't stress this enough, you were the one who made watching Delicious In Dungeon INFINITELY more enjoyable for me! 😄

The Artists working on that show give it their all. I can't wait to see, what they do with the other Backstories. The final jump could have been handled a bit more direct though. They added a "thud" sound to explain what happened, but the panel in the Manga, that showed her backwards dive was more understandable in terms of progression. Regardless, it is so cool to see them actually use the medium to enhance the adaption. It reminds me a lot of early MHA, before Studio Bones decided to just use the Manga as their Storyboard.

I fucking LOVED the whole sequence of this episode. Such an intense tone shift with a great payoff! Ive noticed the first 2 yokai that theyve delt with, Turbogranny and Silky, both have had some connection to violence directed at women. I hesitate to say sexual violence, but an argument could be made i think...

Adding a first person view to the final moments of the kidnapping was an inspired choice. You've spent this time learning about this loving family, but suddenly you ARE the mother, YOUR kid has been kidnapped and YOU are fighting through the pain and anguish, desperately clinging to hope as your world falls apart.
