For quick load development, my Dillon is perfect. I can grab a powder bottle, partially fill a small bowl, half fill my trickler, and weigh out & fill 30-35 prepped & primed cases with a tiny scoop and the trickler loading the pan directly on the scale for a ladder test that day faster than filling up the powder reservoir on my digital Lyman 1200 DPS 3 or RCBS Chargemaster, waiting for them to warm up, zero checking them, running 30-35 cases, then unload the powder from the reservoir and clean up the mess in and around the digital powder dispenser. And my SD's are actually a slight bit tighter than with the digitals. The old Lyman will often "drift" to throwing .2 grains off fairly frequently, so I try to limit its use to bulk range practice ammo that's nowhere near max load. I saw a stat somewhere that a properly adjusted & calibrated beam scale could be as accurate as +/- .06 grains, so potentially a touch better resolution than a typical sub-$500 digital powder dispenser (at +/-.1 grain listed resolution). Perfect for spot-checking and small jobs. I'm retired, so time savings isn't as much of an issue. For someone who is impatient, isn't a fan of the reloading process, or just wants to get out and shoot, probably not the best method. But it works for me. Thanks for your review. (PS you scored. I paid nearly twice that price for my LNIB Dillon on the 'Bay).

Boy I wish this would have fixed mine. My whole carrier is loose and has about 1/16” rotational slop in it. Enough that it messes with alignment. 5 rounds total loaded on the machine.

I'm glad that you did a video for the common dude, I know you could have rolled it out and cut it up, wielded it seamless in the shop. this was a nice video for non sheet metal guys. Nice job explaining, i was wondering in the beginning if you was going to cut the crimped end with the 90° in the hole crimped end down. I agree on the end cap but if someone has no other choice, they can add an inline damper to control the air flow thru it. Again, nice job splaining it.
@TinManReloading
@TinManReloading 24 күн бұрын
I mean, if there’s room for a tap off the end, there’s room to extend the trunk. But sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. With a damper, it would help but would still cut down pressure to the other taps. Thanks, Tread! Hope you’ve been doing well man.

I hated doing sheet metal work when I worked on aircraft, did a few emergency repairs in the field but most of the time we had specialist sheet metal techs to do the work in the shop. I do admire the skills used in some of the old venting I've seen on older factories though, really complex stuff!

I wouldn't waste the reloading components until I got that under control. otherwise you are just making your best guess, and the further away you are to the target, the worse it will be off. good video, - Dave

I think the parallax for this scope is set around 100 yards. I’ll have to see if it happens at 100. But I agree, it’s pissing in the wind at this point. But I think I found a way to adjust it. We’ll find out tomorrow and I’ll do a video. Thanks, Dave 👍🏻

You need another scope. I have tried to work around scopes like that in the past and ended wasting a lot of time, ammo, and money. Cut your losses and get another scope before you go any further. I almost sold a tack driving 22 one time because of a scope like that. Swapped scopes and that thing shot lights out.
@TinManReloading
@TinManReloading 4 ай бұрын
I think you’re absolutely right. I know the scope isn’t great and it’s pissing in the wind trying to do load development with it like this. But there’s a way to adjust the parallax on these fixed scopes that I wanna try before I write it off. It’ll be a learning experience as long as I don’t let the nitrogen out 😂
