Omg nice, I get so pissed when my goggles fog up every 2 milliseconds

No explanation in more detail why...
@swimsmarttoday11 күн бұрын
Fog-X inserts have an anti-fog coating that attracts water, preventing beading on your goggles. Normally, water beading creates fog, but the hydrophilic surface of the inserts decreases surface tension. This allows the water to form a clear, thin layer you can see through. No beading means no fog.

I think this streamline is the best moment in breaststroke, like pull in back, push in fly and glide in free, although I have yet to master it or ask a breaststroker, what makes his event fun, to confirm

I'm sure it would have value. But I remember that residents have a lower suicide rate than medical students and attendings surprisingly. I wonder it if it would better for them initially

Any chance you think this could be applied to residents in some way?

Agreed, this is a perfect example of wasting your time. No full range of motion for a deep stretch, just straight up garbage reps lol

This is a great way to bust up your elbows when the weight inevitably falls off your back.

Often one arm pulls stronger than the other if the swimmer has uneven rotation or catch. This might fix it

@vs_solar2895 there's really no shame in lowering the weight and having slow reps time under tension really builds growth
@swimsmarttodayАй бұрын
Growth is not the goal for swimmers. We want strength. Think powerlifter, not bodybuilder

Good breakdown of stroke. I would like to teach kids 6 years old butterfly and would need some basic drills for complete beginners

After mastering backstroke or butterfly, full stroke is always the most fun

It's good if you have a back injury, but you're not going to get a maximally engaged core doing leg press.

Every specialist says his style is the hardest except backstrokes. I am not a competitive swimmer but I honestly think that backstroke is the hardest stroke to master

This early kicking is often seen even in races, maybe not at elite level, but they are still very fast😊

This is more important than drill 1 IMHO. The gliding phase is forward like breaststroke only with arms a bit higher, because it’s from where they came. The chest glides forward, not down as a novice swimmer might think
@swimsmarttoday2 ай бұрын
Nothing specific from me. A lot of people like bucket turns, I think that's for older kids. Younger kids (who these videos target) need to keep things simple and focus on high yield foundations. So for a back to breast turn, I'd say focus on getting to the wall fast on your side, then coming off straight.
@northsta2 ай бұрын
Any tips for back to breast open turn in IM? I think the secret is to tuck knees to the chest there, similarly to drill 1, but on back

My biggest mistake was not ducking enough at the second kick - the arms need to be as high as possible and head below them when arms enter the water. Only then perform the second kick and it shaves seconds off every pool lenght because it reduced the drag a lot
