I don’t agree that there are no benefits in jealousy. My jealousy shows up in a very empathic way, from a place of pain but with the perspective of my inner child not having had the opportunity to thrive as others have. I’d feel frustrated at the injustice towards any child, as I do often. It doesn’t make me angry or less happy for the person I’m seeing receive what I would also want because I know that there is plenty of abundance in the world. Jealousy can inform us to what we feel entitled to and thus what we want from the world, it can help us pinpoint goals and objectives. I came looking for a meditation that can guide me in sleep to alchemize through this process and I’ll continue listening to see what I get out of this

Right on! The thing is to know this deeply which is hard hard and it takes time like everything else. Just like growing muscle through repeated action. Somehow it’s possible to drill through layers of learned behavior, and sometimes our own behavior has reinforced the learned behavior for many years. But I believe there is freedom if we persist. Never give up.

We are capable of loving and being loved but there is no evidence to prove we will be loved. We desire to be and prefer to be but there is no immutable law that says we will be. Of course our faith that a higher power loves us is nice but some don’t believe that either. Love has many faces and we can love people and things differently. Now romantic love as previously defined is a form of mental crazy because our brains are polluted with tons of feel good hormones and if you add sex you’re flooded with even more. Things your mate does are seen as ethereal. In time many will get on your nerves because the honeymoon stage is over. Some folks then run out to find new love, rinse, repeat. Relationship love is work it takes work it’s like a job that has its rewards and it’s annoyances. Now, as for behavior. You can love someone and hate their behavior one sets boundaries and rules as to what they will accept or reject and this can evolve over time. Their behavior doesn’t define you but it sometimes doesn’t define them either unless- there is a pattern or recurring history then their behavior still doesn’t define them in their entirety but does create a high probability they will repeat their behavior it’s up to you and your boundaries to determine what you’ll tolerate. Furthermore the term awful is something that implies catastrophic and beyond which is a false concept since nothing is 100 percent awful even death if you are religious and believe in a hereafter. Being hurt having your heart broken sucks. It can be traumatizing but it is also an opportunity to learn from. Was your judgement not clear was theirs what could you or they have done differently evaluate if the relationship just wasn’t operative meaning there was too much lacking from either or both etc. if your partner is maladaptive then expect that type of behavior be pressed when they don’t but set boundaries your heart is precious investing your emotions into someone or something makes you vulnerable so any blip in your expectations can seem enormous you define your responses you define your behavior your reaction. They will do the same. If a relationship ends you can have another or many others or none. There is no right or wrong. I think more important then loving or at least as vaulted is kindness. Be kind to all especially to yourself. ❤
